How To Make Dumplings: With Ken Hom

Hello you!

So, you know how I am always harping on about how much I love my job and how being a filmmaker means you get to do so many things you wouldn't normally get to do?

Yep?

Well, I'm about to do it again- soz.

Last week I got to film Ken Hom teaching people how to make dumplings! It was pretty awesome... though the smell made concentrating on work fairly hard!

What struck me was just how smiley, friendly and zen this dude was. Everyone wanted photos, or an autograph and he just handled it all in such a lovely manner. I may be biased, though...I was the one who got to eat his dumplings!

Here's the film I made for Qumin, and the day they all got to make dumplings with Ken Hom.

Isn't he just so gorgeous! ...I'm a little bit in love.

The Wonky Supper Club

Hello!

You might have seen on my Instagram recently that I've been taking a few photos of my great friend Pippa Snadden and her awesome new endeavour Escape The Onion

A few weeks ago I got invited along to supper club she was hosting (in the friend and photographer capacity).

It was called The Wonky Supper Club because Pip uses wonky, rejected produce whenever she can. Before I met Pip I wasn't really aware of the concept of wonky fruit and veg... I didn't realise that so much food gets thrown away just because it's not pretty or perfect enough! Can you imagine if we did this with humans... There would be none left! But what a colossal waste!!! And for what?

Anywhoooo- Pip's taught me, and she's trying to use all the unloved stuff as much as possible. At the supper club, guess what... it made no difference whatsoever, the food was still super amazing.

Here are a few photos I took of the night. Be sure to give her a follow on Facebook so you can be at the next event and support all the unloved fruit and veg of the world!!

A Food Tour Around Soho London

Weekend Warrior//Food Tour

Is there literally anything better than eating food in Soho?

Probably not... I mean, It would put up a solid fight.

This bank holiday the gang and I indulged in a little food tour around our favourite little area and got to sample some absolute delights!

Obviously, I made a little film of the day. (I was slightly distracted by all the food though!!)

Just so you know... We went to:

KUA'AINA for Bacon Sarnis and Hawaiian beer.

TAO TAO JU for Dimsum.

LA BODEGA NEGRE for tacos and mini margaritas . (One of my fave spots in Soho... head downstairs for an awesome cocktail bar)

WHYTE & BROWN for chicken wings and craft ale.

SAID CHOCOLATE for hot chocolate!

All of these places were blooming excellent... and I will be going back!! The tour was great too- lovely way to learn a bit more about the area and the people who make some of the greatest meals in England.
