It's taken a while, but it's finally done!... (ish. It's one of those cases where you have to give yourself a deadline otherwise you'd keep tweaking forever.)
For a while now I have been wanting to start making nicer travel videos that have a bit more of a commercial feel and the trip to Sri Lanka in April was the perfect chance to have a go.
Saying that I don't think I have totally commercial at all... shooting with vintage prime lenses gives the footage a softer focus and a haze that newer lenses just don't have. I have also added a load of film grain because in an ideal world I would shoot on film- not that I ever have, but I can imagine it been a bit of me! And also... I shot a whole travel film without a drone! I mean, imagine that!!
Either way, I am really happy with the results and tomorrow I'm off to shoot the next instalment in Bruges. I'm hoping this is the start of me taking my filmmaking to the next level and pushing myself to work harder, shoot more and be increasingly creative.
So, here it is....Shot over two amazing weeks exploring Sri Lanka using only a Sony A7Sii and a small selection of my grandpa's old vintage primes.
